One Year of Wonder.

No distractions, no loud themes—just the pure joy of turning one.

celebrate turning one!

A celebration that doesn't overwhelm.

The first birthday is a huge milestone—not just for your baby, but for you. While many studios offer loud sets and bright colours, my First Birthday sessions are designed to be a calm, playful reflection of your child’s personality.

We don't need giant props or flashy balloons to capture the magic. By using a clean, white backdrop and natural light, we ensure that when you look at these photos in twenty years, you see your child’s sparkling eyes and gummy grin—not a dated studio set.

The Flow of the Session.

We keep the energy light and the pace baby-led, moving through the shoot in a way that feels like play:

  • Natural Play: We begin with simple portraits using my collection of timeless wooden toys. These aren't just props; they are "ice-breakers" that allow me to capture those focused expressions and first giggles while your baby explores.
  • The "Tiny" Cake: We finish the session with a beautiful, understated tiered cake with simple white frosting. This isn't about the mess—it’s about the curiosity. Watching a one-year-old discover the texture of frosting for the first time is a memory you’ll want to keep forever.

"Will they stay still?" (Spoiler: They don't have to!)

At one year old, your baby is meant to be on the move. Whether they are crawling, cruising, or taking those brave first steps, I am ready for them.

  • 36 Nieces and Nephews: I’ve spent my life surrounded by toddlers. I have a whole toolkit of silly songs and games to keep them engaged, and I’m fast enough to catch the "in-between" moments that truly show who they are.
  • A Safe, Calm Space: Drawing on my midwife-mother’s expertise and my own paediatric first aid training, I’ve created a studio that is a safe "blank canvas" where your toddler can be themselves without the risk of knocking over heavy props.

A mum in a cream dress sits and holds her one year old baby boy up in the air, they are both laughing.

Simple For You

What to Wear: I recommend neutral tones—whites, creams, or soft earthy linen—to match the minimalist aesthetic.

The Cake: I provide the simple, white-frosted cake, so you don't have to worry about a thing on the day.
